Product Description

Cell Gain: Intermittent Hyperoxia Hypoxia Training

R&D Grade Training Oxygen Concentrator & Open Knowledge Project

Cellular empowerment by leveraging Nobel Prize winning technology.

If you want to support climate change reversal & you are into longevity, biohacking, overall health, hyperbaric chambers, are a top performing athlete, or a couch potato our R&D grade training equipment is for you. In a nutshell, our equipment and citizen science project for Intermittent Hyperoxia-Hypoxia Training (IHHT) is meant to increase your body cells' power and your energy using zero (non-air) chemicals, peptides, drugs or medicines.

Instead of building a "Not a flame thrower" (Elon Musk's controversial funding campaign) to fund the development of the global Net+Positive Energy ecosystem, we decided to make a funding product that is beneficial for human health and energy, namely IHHT and IHHT+HOT. If you as our contributor would like to help with more than the value of one IHHT(+HOT), we extend the option to donate our devices to your favorite causes/organizations for their affiliates to use or as a means of income (see Business Oriented contributors section).

The mitochondria is the energy producing organelle of our cells and our bodies, commonly referred to as the cells' powerhouse. If your cells are low on power, you are low on power. Just as you would train in the gym to strengthen your muscles, you can also train your cells for more power with CellGain IHHT(+HOT) — an improved altitude "sherpa-like training" without the high altitude headaches!

The IHHT advantage is that we can train our cells even while sitting down or resting (or after a few sessions while doing exercise). This is no late hour infomercial; that is why we prefer that our contributors read the benefits of IHHT directly from peer reviewed scientific literature (see Bibliography section).

How Does It Work?

Just as we improve our muscle strength by challenging our muscles with more weight, IHHT challenges the cells' powerhouse (mitochondria) with sets of breathing lower oxygen content air (hypoxia). Like a typical gym session, an IHHT session lasts between 30 minutes to one hour.

Instead of resting between sets, in IHHT we supplement our cells with an enhanced recharge cycle using oxygen rich air (hyperoxia) in between hypoxic air — sort of like massaging the muscles in between sets. During a typical IHHT session one would expect to start breathing concentrated oxygen (increasing SpO2 to ≈100%), then hypoxic air (decreasing SpO2), then return to concentrated oxygen, and so the cycles continue until end of training.

Revitalizing From the Bottom Up

Our cells convert energy in the mitochondria to function properly. The more energy at their disposal the better they work, and by extension so does our bodies. Our cells' mitochondria cleaning signal is activated by the low SpO2 phase, recycling "defective" mitochondria. Then the cells are additionally stimulated to produce new and healthy mitochondria during the high SpO2 phase.

IHHT could be seen as an indirect analogy to the biochemical signaling produced when changing quickly between hot sauna and cold plunges — but without the extreme uncomfortable experience.

Research Areas

Recent peer-reviewed literature explores IHHT in relation to:

Note on usage: Just as one could overdo muscle training, one could also overdo IHHT. Our R&D training units will include safety guidelines responding to your body's O2 content (Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced modes). Please train with partners, especially when trying new settings.

IHHT & More

Would you rather be up to date with the latest health and wellness knowledge, or wait several years to see it?

We are developing R&D IHHT equipment. Exercising with intermittent HyperBaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) has shown preliminary positive correlations to lead life indicators believed to correlate with health and lifespan. For a comparison on how does IHHT (as well as our featured IHHT+HOT) compare to other training technologies by oxygen partial pressure ( ≈oxygen concentration), please refer to the figure below.

Oxygen Partial Pressure comparison across training types
Figure 3. A side note on chemistry: Oxygen Partial Pressure in Training Type (in Air Atmospheres equivalent of oxygen partial pressure) — comparing Air, IHT, EWOT, IHHT, IHHT+HOT, and HBOT. What is important to induce effects with gases from a chemistry perspective is the partial pressure of a given gas (e.g. the oxygen partial pressure in atmospheric air is approximately ≈20% of 1 atm), not the overall pressure of the gas (1 atm, an atm is a unit of pressure related to the pressure of air in Earth’s atmosphere). Exercise With Oxygen Therapy (EWOT) and IHHT+HOT raise the partial and total pressure of oxygen to about 1 atm (approximately the same oxygen partial pressure of air at 5 atm). The HBOT literature used 2 atm partial and total pressure of oxygen (oxygen equivalent to about 10 atm of pressurized air, only about twice as much as IHHT+HOT maximum oxygen concentration or 5 times that of IHHT).
Product Development Roadmap

"Prototypes are easy, production is complex." That is why we are currently collecting pre-orders at early bird discounted prices. We aim to maximize functionality and user-friendliness. Having previously developed gas-tailoring units (high ozone "plasma activated oxygen" gas, liquids and oils), applying those lessons to human health comes naturally.

We are confident to start shipping the first CellGain IHHT units in about 6 months, and CellGain IHHT+HOT two months thereafter. Early delivery is possible — contributors will have the option to opt-in as early trial customers with additional perks.

Touchscreen UI Features

  • Multiple user settings & preferences
  • Training track record & session history
  • Initial user calibration
  • Relaxed start (programmable hyperoxia warm-up)
  • Pre-programmed cycles adjustable by SpO2 levels
For Business-Minded Backers

An IHHT session in the US costs between $120–$200 USD. At the $10,000 USD pre-order price, a CellGain IHHT unit can break even in under one month of sessions (50–90 hours). A CellGain IHHT+HOT ($18,000 USD) can break even in less than two months of sessions.

Ideal for: gym owners, spas & resorts, HBOT professionals, personal trainers, wellness centers, longevity professionals, medical practitioners, think tanks as well as longevity enthusiasts, and biohackers. If you are their member or regular and would like to try it as well, please share this link with them.

Pre-Order Pricing
  • Cell Gain IHHT Early Bird Pre-Order: $10,000 USD (Steady state: ~$15,000 USD) — Ships in ~6 months or less. First order receive an additional discount or perk.

We are targeting $60,000 USD in pre-orders to iterate fast on production-ready components for 3–6 units. As a benchmark, "decent" IHHT units from Europe cost $20,000–$30,000 USD plus up to $4,000 USD of shipping and imports. Units combining on-demand HOT and IHHT are not yet available on the market. Our mission is to bring it to you first!
